DONNA HERNANDEZ

Donna has been a licensed attorney since 1985 after receiving a B.A. in political science from Texas Tech University and earning her J.D. from Southern Methodist University School of Law. She also holds a M.A. in Strategic Communication & Innovation from Texas Tech. Donna began her law practice at a Fort Worth regional firm then moving her practice to the Dallas in 1989. In 1994, Donna founded the law firm of Morris & Morris, now known as The Morris Legal Group.

Donna has been a visiting lecturer and has written curriculum on issues affecting small business needs such as human resources, financial planning, banking, insurance and risk management for an entrepreneurial business academy and made numerous presentations about responsible legal representation to nonprofit groups and business organizations.

 

Political consulting has also been part of her experience in recent years. She founded Elevate Communications, through which she has managed various local and regional political races. The consulting work includes creating candidates’ public profile, building brands, strategizing direct mail and managing social media campaigns.

Donna is a former Denton County Commissioner’s Court appointee to the Denton County Development District 4 and the Confederate Statue Committee and currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Cross Timbers Rotary Club and Lewisville Chamber of Commerce. She has also been active in many civic and charitable organizations, serving on the Board of Directors for Giving Grace, Christian Community Action, Youth & Family Counseling Center, Journey to Dream, Greater Lewisville United Way, the Greater Lewisville YMCA, the Denton County Substance Abuse Commission, the Lewisville Education Foundation, the Lewisville Economic Development Foundation and the Lewisville Alliance.

Donna has chaired both the Lewisville and Flower Mound Chambers of Commerce Board of Directors, been named Flower Mound Citizen of the Year and served as the President of the Flower Mound Rotary Club.  She is the mother of 5 sons, resides in Flower Mound, Texas with her husband Tommy Hernandez and serves as the administrator for the non-profit Dallas Tigers Baseball Club, Inc.
